What Is the All My Homies Hate Meme?

The image is a sepia-toned photo of six young men standing together in what looks like a small shop or convenience store. Several pose toward the camera while one man in front leans back and gestures. The meme pairs the group with a statement about something they all dislike, turning a personal complaint into a collective verdict. It is commonly used for strong, blunt disapproval of a habit, object, trend, or opinion.

People also search for the All My Homies Hate meme as the All My Homies Hate X meme, with the disliked subject replacing “X.”

Where the Meme Comes From

The template comes from a photograph of a group of men posing inside a shop. The image circulated online as a reaction meme, and its exact original photographer and date are not firmly established. It became widely recognizable through captions following the “All My Homies Hate [thing]” wording, shared across social platforms and meme communities. The photo’s group pose makes the caption feel like a united statement rather than an individual opinion.

How to Use the Template

Use the two boxes to name the target of the group’s shared dislike.

1. All my homies hate: Write the thing, person, or behavior the group supposedly dislikes. For example, “people who play videos out loud.”
2. Optional reason: Add a short explanation or punchline that makes the complaint more specific. For example, “the headphones are right there.”

Keep the target familiar and the reason brief. The joke works best when the group’s forceful pose contrasts with a petty everyday annoyance.
