What Is the This Is Fine Meme?

This Is Fine shows an orange dog wearing a hat and sitting at a table as flames fill the room. In the first panel, the dog sits beside a cup while smoke clouds hang overhead. The second panel is a close-up of the dog holding a cup, with a speech bubble that reads “THIS IS FINE.” The meme expresses forced calm, denial, or resignation when a situation is clearly going wrong.

Where the Meme Comes From

The image comes from a webcomic by KC Green, whose original comic is titled “On Fire.” The dog’s “This is fine” line became widely used as a reaction image and meme in the 2010s, spreading across social media and online forums. The familiar template focuses on the two panels showing the dog in the burning room and saying the situation is fine.

How to Use the Template

The template has two text boxes, one for each panel:

1. The situation: describe the problem or chaos in the first panel, such as “My inbox has 400 unread emails.”
2. The reaction: write the calm response in the second panel, such as “I’m sure it can wait.”

Keep the contrast clear: the first box sets up the trouble, and the second gives the understated response.

As a short video, the flames can flicker while the dog blinks, shifts slightly, and calmly holds the cup; the first and second panels can move subtly in turn. Clips longer than 10 seconds get more reach on X, and you can make the video right on this page.
