Marked Safe From meme-template & generator

What Is the Marked Safe From Meme?

The template shows a small blue flag on a pole near the top, with the words “Marked Safe From” beneath it and “Today” farther down. The two text areas let you replace those phrases with a mock safety announcement: name an event or nuisance, then say when someone was supposedly spared from it. The joke works by borrowing the language of a serious status update for something ordinary, trivial, or unlikely.

Where the Meme Comes From

The format refers to Facebook’s “marked safe” feature, which let people notify friends that they were safe after a crisis or disaster. The meme template turns that status wording into a joke by applying it to everyday situations. It circulated online as a social media image macro; the exact first post and date of spread are not firmly established.

How to Use the Template

The template has two text boxes, read from top to bottom:

1. Marked safe from: Name the event, inconvenience, or situation someone avoided. For example, “the office meeting.”
2. Today: Add the time or circumstance for the mock update. For example, “another Monday.”

Keep the first line brief enough to read at a glance. The humor often comes from treating a small everyday escape as if it deserves a formal safety announcement.
