What Is the Woman Yelling at Cat Meme?

This side-by-side image pairs a blonde woman shouting and pointing with another woman behind her on the left, and a white cat sitting at a table in front of a plate of greens on the right. The woman appears angry and accusatory, while the cat looks calm and unimpressed. The meme contrasts an intense complaint with a response that seems stubborn, confused, or unconcerned. It works for disagreements, mismatched reactions, and situations where one side is making a big fuss while the other refuses to engage.

People also search for it as the Yelling Woman and Confused Cat meme or the Smudge the Cat meme.

Where the Meme Comes From

The template combines a still of a woman yelling from a reality television scene with a photo of a white cat at a dinner table. The cat image became widely associated with the name Smudge. The two images were paired and spread as a meme in 2019, especially on social media, where the contrast between the woman’s shouting and the cat’s expression made it easy to adapt to arguments and everyday complaints.

How to Use the Template

Use the left side for the complaint and the right side for the cat’s response.

1. Yelling woman: Write the angry claim, demand, or accusation, such as “You said you’d only watch one episode!”
2. Cat: Add the reply or opposing point, such as “The next episode started automatically.”

Keep each side brief so the contrast is clear at a glance.
