Trade Offer Meme Template & Generator

What Is the Trade Offer Meme?

The Trade Offer meme shows a man in a suit steepling his fingers beneath a red banner that reads “TRADE OFFER.” The two sides of the image are labeled “i receive:” and “you receive:”, leaving room to describe what each side gets. It is used to frame an exchange as a deal, often making the trade funny by giving one person a benefit and the other a strange, unfair, or inconvenient outcome.

Where the Meme Comes From

The image is a screenshot of a man presenting the trade-offer layout, with the header and the two exchange labels included in the template. It circulated as a meme on social media, where people filled in the two sides with contrasting outcomes. The exact original source and date of the screenshot are not firmly established, so it is best known by the “Trade Offer” text and its simple bargaining format.

How to Use the Template

The template has three text areas, read from top to bottom:

1. Trade Offer: State the kind of deal or set up the exchange, such as “Trade offer.”
2. I receive: Write what the person making the offer gets, such as “A day off.”
3. You receive: Write what the other person gets, such as “All my chores.”

Make the two sides easy to compare. A lopsided or unexpectedly specific deal often makes the joke work.
