Epic Handshake Meme Template & Generator

What Is the Epic Handshake Meme?

Epic Handshake shows two muscular arms clasping hands in a powerful grip. One arm comes from a person wearing a white shirt on the left, and the other belongs to a person in a red shirt on the right. The dramatic, painted image presents their handshake as a bond between two forces that have something in common. In memes, the people or groups are usually labeled separately, with their shared trait or goal labeled on the clasped hands.

The format expresses an unexpected alliance, common ground, or agreement between people who might otherwise seem different. It is also searched as the Predator handshake meme, Arnold handshake meme, or two muscular arms handshake meme.

Where the Meme Comes From

The image is a painted depiction inspired by the handshake between Dutch, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Dillon, played by Carl Weathers, in the 1987 action film *Predator*. Their flexed-arm greeting became a memorable visual of strength and camaraderie. The painted version circulated online as a meme template, with captions identifying the two sides and the trait they share. The exact date and first place it spread are not firmly established, so it is best understood as a broadly circulated internet image based on the film scene.

How to Use the Template

Use the three text areas to label both sides and what connects them:

1. Left side: Name the person, group, or thing on the left, such as "People who love tea".
2. Shared trait: Put their common ground on the clasped arms, such as "A warm drink on a rainy day".
3. Right side: Name the other person, group, or thing, such as "People who love coffee".

The joke works when the two sides have a clear connection, especially if the pairing seems unlikely at first.
